Our Passive House Consultancy Experience

Passivhaus buildings provide a high level of occupant comfort while using very little energy for heating and cooling. They are built with meticulous attention to detail and rigorous design and construction according to principles developed by the Passivhaus Institute in Germany, and can be certified through an exacting quality assurance process. Our Team are self-managed, reliable and deliver on time. As accredited Passive House Designers, we can guide you through your project from Concept Design to Passivhaus Verification.

Passive House Classifications

Passive Houses are characterised by an especially high level of thermal comfort with minimum energy consumption. In general, the Passive House Standard provides excellent cost-effectiveness particularly in the case of new builds.

The categories; Passive House Classic, Plus or Premium can be achieved depending on the renewable primary energy (PER) demand and generation of renewable energy.

The Passive House Classic certification does not need any form of renewable energy to acheive, whereas the plus and premium require a minimum level of energy generated from renewable solutions to merit certification.

Classic Standard

The Passive House Classic, is the traditional Passive House. This is achieved through the traditional Passivhaus methods of high insulation, low energy demand and no renewable energy solutions.

Plus Standard

The Passive House Plus is where the additional energy is generated, such as from photovoltaics. In the case of single family and buildings with few stories, such buildings produce about as much energy as residents consume, at least in an – admittedly somewhat misleading – annual net-zero energy balance.

Premium Standard

In a Passive House Premium, typically far more energy is produced than needed. It is therefore a goal for the particularly ambitious: building owners and designers who want to go beyond what economic and ecological considerations already propose. The Passive House Institute is working to make the Passive House Standard more attractive for this avant-garde.

OUR GOAL

All Passivhaus projects must use the design tool Passive House Planning Package (PHPP). Our Passive House Designers are fully versed on the software and requirements of the tool, and can calculate the most efficient passive house consultancy method for your project, within the cost budget.

ENERGY PERFORMANCE CERTIFICATES (EPC)

Energy Performance Certificates are required for both commercial and domestic applications for sale or rent. Energy Performance Certificates can only be produced by Qualified Energy Assessors. Our in house assessors can turn EPCs round in quick fashion, with next day delivery service available at an extra cost.
